Have you ever wondered why the PS5 and Xbox Series X always seems to be in a serious shortage of supply since its announcement and launch? This is as a result of the shortage of the AMD chipset used in producing the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
When the PS5 and the Xbox series S went on sale some sites ended up crashing while the few once that didn’t crash ran out of stock within seconds. If you noticed during the ale of the previous-gen consoles this was not so. This is solely because of the coronavirus pandemic. Because of the pandemic, AMD is struggling with keeping up the production of the chip with the demand.
Dr. Lisa Su AMD CEO has now admittedly announced to us this situation on the ground which is the shortage of supply is set to continue till mid-2021. This is because the Zen 2-based CPUs and RDNA 2-based GPUs chips are solely manufactured by AMD.
Up until now neither Xbox of PlayStation hasn’t seen any reason to look to other chip manufacturers but if this continues I think they may opt for a different type of chip entirely new time.
So until then, you have to sit tight and keep watch as the stock continues to turn up from time to time in limited capacity.
Here is our detailed article you should keep checking for you to find stock in case of any pop-up.
