Google is apparently working on a new beta test search feature that will improve the way you search for files on its drive. This new feature is called “search chips,” which will soon be available on a beta test that you can sign up to get. What this does is that it adds a line of filter to the Google Drive interface that let you limit your seach. You can limit your search based on the file type, last modification date, and more.
This feature will be very useful for those of us that regularly make use of Google Drive for file storage. It is important to note that the Google Drive service is already packed with enough filters that also help you locate any file you are looking for. I just really hope it does not end up complicating things for us users as we have more options to work with.
Google is looking for users that are interested in trying out this beta program that is currently ongoing. If you are interested all you have to do is to visit the sign-up form and make sure to sign up and wait. Once the Beta test program starts you you will be notified.
