As a Cyberpunk 2077 player, you need to beware of a bug inflicting the PS4, PS5, Xbox series x, Xbox series S, Xbox One, PC, and also Google stadia game that utterly corrupt files that you saved. Adding to the list of issues for the game and CD Projekt Red is this virus that corrupts big files that are saved by the players.
At GOG, which is owned and operated by CD Projekt Red is has been acknowledged that the saved data is damaged and cannot be loaded meaning that the bug not only exists but cannot be fixed.
The problem is that if your saved file gets too big it will become corrupted and it appears that it’s due to the game has not yet accounted for files more than 8MB. According to GOG support, there is nothing to be done when players are on the wrong side and all players can do at the moment is to load an older file. Also to try to keep a lower amount of items to prevent the saved file from getting too big.
It is better to use an older saved file to continue playing and try to keep a lower amount of materials and items. Though it is not unclear how big is too big players are reporting the issue after the file size has reached 8MB. Also before it reaches 8MB, at 6MB the game starts to load slower. It has not been reported by CD Projekt Red but it has been reported.
